The leading natural apple taste CSD, La Casera Apple Drink, has rewarded winners who participated in last year’s La Casera Golden Moment campaign on Friday, February 3, in Lagos. La Casera Golden Moment was a radio phone-in and social media driven campaign. The campaign enabled Consumers from across the country to call-in during live broadcasts in selected radio programmes while other consumers posted their treasured life’s moment on La Casera’s Facebook page.

Winner of the grand prize, Ehikhuemen Samuel, a school proprietor in Ondo State who offers scholarships to orphans narrated how his passion to help and teach orphans became his La Casera Golden Moment. Speaking at the event the thrilled winner of the all-expense paid weekend at the exquisite La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana narrated his La Casera Golden Moment story.


“I have always loved teaching. One day I called my landlord’s children who were always playing and making noise outside into my rented room and started teaching them for free; it wasn’t long before my room became too small for the children. The first day I had eight students, the second day I had 12 students and within a month I had about 40 students. One day a parent brought a bunch of plantain as a gift and that made me happy. I worked with an NGO but I didn’t find fulfilment so I left to work as a teacher and after five years of work the proprietor was so pleased with me that he asked me to look for somewhere to start my own school that he would fund it and he did. I founded Patuland Academy; today we have 78 students and we teach orphans for free, this gives me fulfilment. This is my La Casera Golden Moment.” Samuel said.

The second prize winner, Akwuruaha Godspower Ikenna, who came from Imo State won an all-expense paid weekend at Epe Resort and Spa, Lagos. Ikenna was visibly excited as he thanked La Casera Apple for giving him another golden moment worthy of remembering for a life time. Ikenna’s La Casera Golden Moment story was about his humanitarian work which involved setting up an NGO called YWAP. His NGO managed to feed over 2,000 economically challenged students who could not afford a meal for free even while he was still a Geology student himself at the Imo State University.
