It is no longer news that the Nigerian female national team, The Super Falcons are African champions after defeating their Cameroonian counterpart on Saturday at the 12th edition of Africa’s Women Cup of Nations to retain the trophy. Falcons have won the tournament for a record eight times.

The African champions returned to the country on Sunday and went straight to the Ambassadors Hotel, Ikoyi where they were welcomed and hosted in a superb reception by the management of Emzor Pharmaceuticals Limited, the leading pharmaceutical company in Nigeria.



Receiving the African champions, CEO of Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Dr Stella Okoli reiterated the company’s commitment to support Nigerian football and the teams.

“Emzor would always go the extra mile to support Nigerian football teams and encourage them to always be on top of their games. Super Falcons have once again proved how great Nigeria is. They have really made us proud and they will continue to have our full support”. She said.

In his response, the Minister of Sports, Solomon Lalung also thanked the company for its unprecedented interest in the success of Nigerian Football teams.

“We are aware of what Emzor is contributing to the development of the national teams; we cannot thank them enough. We hope major companies in Nigeria can emulate them.” He stated.

In the same vein, the Chairman, Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, thanked the company for its support and promised the federation would always do its best to ensure Nigerian teams come tops at any competition.13

The team’s captain, Rita Chikwelu, speaking on behalf of the team also thanked the company for its kind gesture and promised the team would never let the country down.
